Fast Forward Festival 2021 | International Streams

The Dresden Fast Forward - European Festival for Young Directors took place hybrid this year. Four productions were performed in the Kleines Haus of the Staatsschauspiel Dresden and in Hellerau and simultaneously shown via live stream on the website www.fastforw.art. Four online productions were presented purely as live streams.

On nachtkritik.plus we show the eight productions, partly own online productions, partly recordings of the performance in Dresden during the festival, which took place from November 11 to 14. They give insight into what young European theater makers are dealing with, but also exemplify how a festival currently has to address an analog and an online audience. How to address the audience that is partly sitting in the room, partly watching in the stream? Questions that played a role in this edition. The festival ended with the awarding of the festival prize to the British directors Jaz Woodcock-Stewart and Morgann Runacre-Temple for their production "Civilisation".
